.USA Pinup.
This picture was created for an idea that originated on The Drawing Board. It was suggested that we, as a community of artists, create a book of patriotic-themed pinup-style pictures to send to the soldiers risking their lives for the greater good. I wasn't sure I'd have the chops to get a picture accepted, since there are a lot of really talented folks on those forums, but apparently this one passed the test.

Unfortunately, the publisher ultimately decided not to print the book so this image never saw print. Regardless, I'm still proud of this for being my first drawing that was at least supposed to be in a real-life publication.

As far as the image goes, I had a few things in mind when I sat down to draw it. First and foremost, I wanted to be sure to keep my image classy. I wanted to make something that was alluring, without making it seem dirty. In my opinion, that's what makes a good, classic pinup. Also, I knew I wanted to keep the image very simple and clean visually, so I intentionally kept the shading to the most basic level possible. Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome.
