My first official picture of 2003 happens to be the same subject matter as my last official picture of 2002... That's right, it's my girl again. Of course, when I was posting my last picture of her, I mentioned how I should probably avoid getting too sappy in my picture comments, 'cause I'm sure nobody appreciates that sort of thing. So I'll just try to keep that stuff to a minimum. (You're welcome.)

Anyway, I'm really pleased with this picture... In fact, I haven't been this pleased with a picture in a long time. It's more of a realistic style than my last attempt at drawing her, and I'm not quite sure why that is. It wasn't a conscious decision, and I didn't really notice until I compared the two. I think this is the first time I've ever drawn a real person and actually been really satisfied with the result. As I sit here thinking about what to say about it, I keep finding myself just staring at it. So, after about 10 tries to come up with a sentence describing how I feel about it, I'm just going to shut up and let the image speak for itself.
