.06.04.08. I would say something like "I hope you're sitting down," but I would suspect you already are. If you love this site enough to be viewing it while standing, perhaps on your mobile phone because you simply cannot wait to check for updates, you may want to seek professional help. Also, I suggest you consider the possibility that you do not actually exist.

Anyway, you can find new art in the gallery, for the first time in just under two years. I know, I can scarcely believe it myself.

.08.01.06. This is not the update you're looking for. This was just a bit of housecleaning. I was notified by Tom that my links page had an outdated link to his portfolio. Of course, this meant I had to face my links page, which I had been avoiding for like a year because it was a teeming cesspool of obsolesence. Many of the sites had been down for years and, what's worse, some of them linked to squatter sites who took over the domains to assault passers-by with numerous nefarious pop-up windows.

Well, because I think you're all pretty swell, I went through and cleaned out the junk. I still wouldn't say it is a completely accurate portrayal of my current link life, but at least you can wade through it without getting a virus.

.07.19.06. Seven new pictures today. This is possibly the biggest update in the history of the site. Sad, I know. Anyway, I still haven't wrapped up all of the current stuff I'm working on, and you never know when new ones may pop up along the way... which is my way of saying that hopefully another fruitful update is in the near future.

.07.12.06. Here's one new picture for you today. Got a few more in various states of completion, still, so the next update shouldn't be too far off.

.06.28.06. I'm back again, with three new pictures. After a bit of a slump, I'm really enjoying drawing again. I've still got a few more pictures to work on, including one that was a requested topic via email, so hopefully updates will be a little more frequent.

Also, since I've never really expressed this, I want to extend a warm welcome to any international visitors. The site does occasionally get hits from around the world and I am very honored by your presence.

.03.19.06. It's already March, so I guess it's time to open a 2006 gallery. There are only five pictures in it thus far, but considering that's more of my own artwork than I offered in the entirety of last year, I guess we're off to a rip-roaring start, eh? EH? Yeah, that's right.

.12.04.05. Here I am again, in case you thought this site was totally dead. Man, I can't believe how long it's been. I didn't even realize until making this update that I didn't even have have 2005 gallery yet. That's terrible, considering that it'll be 2006 in less than a month.

Also, to make me feel even more lame, I've only got four new pictures for you. (And one of them wasn't even drawn by me.) I seriously thought I'd have a bunch more stuff for you, but as I started digging through my files I realized most of the drawings I did throughout this year never quite got finished. So I've got at least four more nearly-done images that I'd like to get up here before the year is over... Maybe a couple more if I can find them. But given the frequency of updates over the past couple years, I don't expect anyone to be holding his breath for that to happen.

.01.23.05. Um... Surprise?

That's right; I'm back. For the first time in more than half a year, there is fresh artwork on display at jesterspawn.com! Five new pictures in the gallery this time. Speaking of the gallery... I know it is now 2005, but I went ahead and stuck all the new stuff in the 2004 gallery since that's what year I was in when I drew it. I'm also already working on three more pictures, so it shouldn't be too long before I create an '05 page.

So... Anyway, I want to apologize for letting the site be so dead for so long. It's sad: 2004 saw four or five months that had fewer hits than any single month since '99. In fact, it won't surprise me if there's not much of an audience left. But if you're here looking at this now, thanks.

Oh, one more thing, and this last part is just for the fine folks at CMKA, where it seems my site has been making the rounds through the company emails. I was just thinking that since (as private investigators) you guys are kinda required to be all sneaky and stuff... You may want to pick up some anonymous browsing software so that potential targets don't know you're looking at them. You're welcome, and thanks for your interest in my 100% legally-created artwork. (And take some satisfaction in knowing you've successfully scared the crap out of me.)

.05.10.04. Well... As of two days ago, I am finished with college. I now have a B.S. in Digital Media Arts from John Brown University and a minor in Illustration. At this time, I am expected to make the transition to adulthood, which I have no idea how to do. However, I do have a couple weeks before my job will be starting (*knocks on wood*) so I'm going to try to set aside some time to just relax and do my own artwork again for a change.

Also, for anyone who has been trying to hit my site lately, I apologize for the downtime. It is NOT the fault of my excellent host Deshong.net... Rather, I am pointing a virtual finger at Network Solutions who have been registering my domain name for five years now and never screwed it up until my last renewal. I had to go back into my account and reassign the DNS servers. Hopefully things will be running more smoothly now. Thanks to Jared for making me aware of the problem.

.02.20.04. Smash Prize Winner! It is 2am and I am updating my site. I have created a 2k4 gallery and it contains four peices of artwork. 'What's the occasion?'you may be asking. Well, I'll tell you. It was the fact that I've been struggling all semester to stay afloat with my senior comprehensive project and all of my other homework. And as of today, I am behind in every single class. In most cases, I am multiple assignments behind. It all keeps piling up and making it more impossible to ever catch up. So today I was ready to just give up. I walked out of a class mid-session and was getting ready to go for a drive to clear my head when a belt in my car's engine rubbed a hole in my lower radiator hose and sprayed all of my antifreeze out. Bear in mind, this is a brand new lower radiator hose that I just installed about a month and a half ago. It just goes to show you that when you think it can't get any worse, it can.

So it was time to let go. I had to learn that I can't carry everything myself. So, after 1 Peter 5:6, 7 helped to drill that point home, I decided to take the night off from everything school-related and just relax with some of my own artwork. And there you have it.

In other news, let us take a moment of silence to mourn the passing of one of my favorite art sites: haLo. I received official word today from Erin that, "haLo's never coming back." I'm a miss it. But I'll be giving you guys the link to an upcoming site that will be featuring her work.

.01.12.04. Remember back when I used to update my website? Like, with new artwork and stuff like that? (Okay, so it never happened very regularly, but it DID happen occasionally. Come on, just humor me here...)

Maybe you miss those days; maybe you don't. Well I do. And I wish I was here to tell you that the long drought is over and that I'll be updating every week with fresh, new (and improved) art... But if I told you that, I'd be lying. The truth is that I don't have anything new for you.

The reason I've come back to write this post is because I don't consider this site "dead" yet. I know half my visitors are people I went to highschool with, but I also know there is a small trickle of folks who have found their way here because they saw one of my pictures somewhere and liked it... and, dangit, I just lost my train of thought. I don't remember where I was going with that. That's probably a good thing, because it looks like it was going to be overly sentimental.

Anyway, I'll be back.
